Saudi astronauts, including nation's 1st woman, catch a SpaceX flight to space station

 

 

Saudi Arabia's first astronauts in decades rocketed toward the International Space Station on a chartered multimillion-dollar flight Sunday.

¼ö½Ê ³â ¸¸¿¡ »ç¿ìµð¾Æ¶óºñ¾Æ ÃÖÃÊÀÇ ¿ìÁÖºñÇà»çµéÀÌ ÀÏ¿äÀÏ ¼ö¹é¸¸ ´Þ·¯ÀÇ Àü¼¼±â¸¦ Ÿ°í ±¹Á¦¿ìÁÖÁ¤°ÅÀåÀ¸·Î ³¯¾Æ°¬½À´Ï´Ù.

 

 



 

 

 

Two Saudi astronauts will be travelling to the International Space Station (ISS) for the first time on a private mission to carry out a number of experiments, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

2¸íÀÇ »ç¿ìµð ¿ìÁÖºñÇà»ç°¡ ¿©·¯ °¡Áö ½ÇÇèÀ» ¼öÇàÇϱâ À§ÇØ Ã³À½À¸·Î ±¹Á¦¿ìÁÖÁ¤°ÅÀå(ISS)À¸·Î °³ÀÎ ÀÓ¹«¸¦ ¼öÇàÇÏ°Ô µÉ °ÍÀ̶ó°í »ç¿ìµð ¾ð·Ð»ç(SPA)°¡ º¸µµÇß½À´Ï´Ù.

 

 

 

Sponsored by the Saudi Arabian government, Rayyanah Barnawi, a stem cell researcher, became the first woman from the kingdom to go to space. She was joined by Ali al-Qarni, a fighter pilot with the Royal Saudi Air Force.

According to SPA, the team will carry out 14 experiments focused on ¡°human research, cell sciences, and cloud seeding experiments in the microgravity environment¡±.

SPA¿¡ µû¸£¸é ¿¬±¸ÆÀÀº "¹Ì¼¼ Á߷ ȯ°æ¿¡¼­ Àΰ£ ¿¬±¸, ¼¼Æ÷ °úÇÐ ¹× ±¸¸§ ¾¾»Ñ¸®±â ½ÇÇè"¿¡ ÃÊÁ¡À» ¸ÂÃá 14°³ÀÇ ½ÇÇèÀ» ¼öÇàÇÒ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

 

 

 

In 2018, Saudi Arabia created the Saudi Space Commission and last year launched a programme to send astronauts into space.

The Kingdom¡¯s history in space extends back to 1985, when Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, an air force pilot, took part in a US-organised space voyage.

The region has been making innovations in the sector in recent years.

 

¿ìÁÖ¿¡¼­ÀÇ ¿Õ±¹ÀÇ ¿ª»ç´Â °ø±º Á¶Á¾»çÀÎ Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ¿ÕÀÚ°¡ ¹Ì±¹ÀÌ Á¶Á÷ÇÑ ¿ìÁÖ Ç×ÇØ¿¡ Âü¿©ÇÑ 1985³âÀ¸·Î °Å½½·¯ ¿Ã¶ó°©´Ï´Ù.

ÀÌ Áö¿ªÀº ÃÖ±Ù ¸î ³â µ¿¾È ÀÌ ºÎ¹®¿¡¼­ Çõ½ÅÀ» ÀÌ·ç¾î ¿Ô½À´Ï´Ù.

 

 

 

In 2019, Hazzaa al-Mansoori from the UAE became the first Arab to reach the ISS. Last month, UAE astronaut Sultan al-Neyadi became the first Arab to undertake a spacewalk.
