향기의 배신 - 향수로 인한 부작용

Perfumes have been historically used primarily for fragrance. 

향수는 역사적으로 주로 향기를 위해 사용되어 왔습니다.

Aroma or fragrance has also been added to the cosmetics to make it more attractive. These fragrance products emit a range of chemicals including hazardous pollutants but the ingredients do not fully disclosed on the product label. Hence, they are found to cause various detrimental effects ion human health. The detrimental effects associated with the use of perfumes are contact dermatitis, contact urticaria, and photo allergy and photo toxicity. 

화장품에 아로마나 향을 첨가하여 더욱 매력적으로 만들기도 합니다. 이러한 향기 제품은 유해 오염 물질을 포함한 다양한 화학 물질을 방출하지만 성분은 제품 라벨에 완전히 공개되어 있지 않습니다. 그것들은 인간의 건강에 다양한방면으로 해로운 영향을 미치는 것으로 밝혀졌습니다. 향수 사용과 관련된 유해한작용은 접촉성 피부염, 접촉성 두드러기, 광알레르기 및 광독성입니다.

Fragrances are complex combinations of natural and/or man-made substances that are added to many consumer products to give them a distinctive smell.

But over exposure to these fragrance products can cause a range of adverse effects on human health including migraine headaches, contact dermatitis, asthma attacks, respiratory difficulties etc. 

그러나 이러한 향 제품에 과도하게 노출되면 편두통, 접촉성 피부염, 천식 발작, 호흡 곤란 등을 포함하여 인체 건강에 다양한 부작용을 일으킬 수 있습니다. 

About 1 in 3 people report having health problems when exposed to fragranced products. Those problems include asthma attacks, hay fever, headache, migraine, dizziness, breathing problems, rashes, congestion, nausea and seizures.

Dangers of Synthetic Scents Include Cancer, Asthma and Kidney Damage

Synthetic scents or “fragrance” represent an unidentified mixture of ingredients including carcinogens, allergens, respiratory irritants, endocrine disruptors, neurotoxic chemicals and environmental toxicants. These artificial scents can can be found in all kinds of body care and cosmetic products, as well as air fresheners, cleaning materials and laundry detergents. According to the Campaign for Safer Cosmetics, hair products are especially problematic. More than 95 percent of shampoos, conditioners and styling products contain fragrance as an ingredient.

합성향은 발암 물질, 알레르기물질, 호흡기 자극 물질, 내분비 교란 물질, 신경 독성 화학 물질, 환경 독성 물질을 포함한 확인되지 않은 성분들의 혼합물을 나타냅니다. 이러한 인공향은 모든 종류의 바디 케어제품과 화장품뿐만 아니라 방향제, 세정제, 세탁 세제에서 찾을 수 있습니다. 더 안전한 화장품을 위한 캠페인에 따르면, 헤어 제품은 특히 문제가 많습니다. 샴푸, 컨디셔너, 스타일링 제품의 95% 이상이 향을 함유하고 있습니다.

Research conducted by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found an average of 14 chemicals in 17 name brand fragrance products. But it doesn’t stop there — none of these chemicals were actually listed on the label.

A National Academy of Sciences points out some vital facts: About 95 percent of chemicals used in synthetic fragrances are derived from petroleum (crude oil). They include benzene derivatives (carcinogenic), aldehydes, toluene and many other known toxic chemicals linked to cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders and allergic reactions. Unfortunately, 30 years later, toxic ingredients continue turn up in products we use and breathe in on a daily basis. Some of the worst toxic ingredients used in lotions, shampoos, laundry detergents, cleaning products and so much more include synthetic scents, often listed as on labels as the elusive “fragrance.” And many on the list are known or suspected endocrine disruptors, compounds that tinker with hormonal health that can trigger weight gain and even set you up for diseases decades down the line.

국립 과학 아카데미는 몇 가지 중요한 사실을 지적합니다. 합성 향료에 사용되는 화학 물질의 약 95퍼센트가 석유(원유)에서 추출됩니다. 여기에는 벤젠 유도체(발암성), 알데히드, 톨루엔 및 암, 선천적 기형, 중추 신경계 장애 및 알레르기 반응과 관련된 많은 알려진 독성 화학 물질이 포함됩니다.  불행하게도 30년이 지난 후에도 우리가 매일 사용하고 호흡하는 제품에 독성 성분이 계속해서 나타납니다. 로션, 샴푸, 세탁 세제, 세정제 등에 사용되는 최악의 독성 성분 중 일부는 합성 향을 포함하며, 종종 라벨에 파악하기 어려운 "향기"로 표시됩니다. 그리고 리스트에 있는 많은것들이 내분비 교란제이자 체중 증가를 유발하고 심지어 수십 년후에 질병에 걸릴 수 있는 호르몬 건강을 건드리는 화합물로 의심됩니다.​
